Play and Snow

We organize inclusive snow programs addressed to children and youngsters.

General goals

  • Promoting sports practice through alpine ski and snowboarding
  • Helping children and youngsters with disabilities create healthy habits, whether these are physical, nutritional or psychological
  • Practicing sports as a team
  • Promoting social inclusion of children and youngsters with impairments through their participation in events and sports camps

  • Providing the necessary tools for the participants to enjoy sports
  • Using sports practice to improve abilities like spatial orientation, balance, proprioception and physical condition.
  • Fostering an improvement in the socialization of our young participants
  • Helping youngsters to get on in their daily lives through sports

Levels

elementary

Who is it addressed to?

Addressed to people with disabilities, whether they are children, youngsters or adults, who would like to start practicing alpine ski or snowboarding.

How?

Our program consists of 7 days of ski or snowboarding and one day devoted to a social event.

The participants will enjoy a daily lesson that lasts one hour and a half (1h30min), taught by qualified teachers with a professional specialization in the field of disability. Every participant will receive individual lessons.

INTERMEDIATE I

Who is it addressed to?

Ski group for youngsters who already have an average autonomy when they ski:

  • They can go up and down with little help at the chairlift.
  • They can ski on both green and blue tracks

How?

This program consists of 11 days of ski or snowboarding and one day devoted to a social event.

The participants will enjoy daily lessons that will last a total of 4 hours (4h), taught by qualified teachers with a professional specialization in the field of disability. The lessons are taught in a group.

INTERMEDIATE II

Who is it addressed to?

Ski group for youngsters with intellectual disability, autism or Asperger syndrome, among other conditions.

Participants must have an average autonomy when they ski:

  • They can go up and down with little help at the chairlift.
  • They can ski on both green and blue tracks

How?

This program consists of 7 days of ski or snowboarding and one day devoted to a social race.

The participants will enjoy daily lessons that will last a total of 4 hours (4h), taught by qualified teachers with a professional specialization in the field of disability. The lessons are taught in a group.

PILOTED

Who is it addressed to?

This program is addressed to children, youngsters and adults who cannot be autonomous when they ski.

How?

The program consists of 4 days of sky and one day devoted to a social event.

The participants will enjoy a daily lesson that lasts one hour and a half (1h30min), taught by qualified teachers with a professional specialization in the field of disability. Every participant will receive individual lessons.

PROMOTION

Who is it addressed to?

This ski group is addressed to youngsters and adults with some autonomy in sports practice:

  • They can go up and down drag lifts on their own
  • They can ski on both red and black tracks without help

It is also addressed to people who would like to train for national alpine ski competitions.

How?

The season begins and finishes with the opening and closure of La Molina Ski Station. The training timetable is Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. to 1p.m.

SNOW CAMPS

These are both sports and educational camps, which is why we aim to stimulate a kind of learning that boosts not only sports knowledge but also self awareness.

The camps take place during Christmas Holidays at La Molina Ski Station. They consist of 4 days and 3 nights during which participants enjoy snow activities in the mornings and playful, sportive and educational activities in the afternoons.
