Inclusive Activities

The main mission of Play and Train’s Sports Section is to organise inclusive activities for people with a disability, also allowing non-disabled people to participate. It focuses on sports in the natural environment, looking for a format in which participants can enjoy sports in a group.

To belong to it and benefit from all the programmes, an annual fee (from October to October) of 30€ must be paid.

The Sports Section is divided into three sections or groups of activities:

The aim of the snow programme is to give people with disabilities, as well as their families and friends, access to skiing and/or snowboarding on a regular basis during the winter at La Molina.

Development of programmes to educate people with and without disabilities while they learn to ride the waves. This programme runs from May to October in Fuerteventura and El Prat de Llobregat.

Through the adventure programme we plan inclusive outdoor activities with a wide range of activities: cycling, zip-lining, hiking, climbing, etc.

The Play and Surf section uses the sports of surfing and paddle surfing as tools to improve the social relations, physical conditions and autonomy of young people with disabilities, through days and camps where young people with disabilities have to develop in sports and in the social environment.

We differentiate two blocks of activities according to their location. In El Prat de Llobregat we offer adapted surfing days on a regular basis on weekends during the spring and autumn months. On the other hand, we organise adapted surf camps for children, teenagers and adults in our Adapted Sports Centre located on the island of Fuerteventura. During one week the participants live together with each other and with the instructors while they learn surfing in the mornings and do different recreational and educational activities in the afternoons.

Through the El Prat de Llobregat Surf Club, we organise regular adapted surfing or paddle surfing activities during the spring and autumn months. The classes take place at the Municipal Sailing Centre of El Prat de Llobregat which offers us adapted facilities.

The Club is organised in two separate blocks according to the season of the year. The Pre-Summer Club takes place from April to June and offers a total of four days of surfing. The Post-Summer Club takes place from September to November and also consists of four days. You can participate in one or both of the two blocks as they are independent.

Each day consists of one hour of private surfing lessons with two qualified instructors specialised in the field of disability in the water. The registration fee includes the one hour lesson, insurance and surfing equipment. The wetsuit must be worn by each participant.

The Open Surf Day is a fun and sporting day for all those who want to try this sport. This day is open to everyone so it is not necessary to be a member of the Sports Section to participate.

Adapted surf camps

The adapted surf camps are of an educational nature, which is why they seek to stimulate learning that favours the knowledge of other areas, such as emotional-affective, social and strengthening the link with nature, visiting different places on our coast.

The camps take place in Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands, between June and September, and last eight days. They are aimed at children, young people and adults with and without disabilities. Throughout the week of coexistence, an atmosphere conducive to learning is created, where spaces for reflection, self-criticism and awareness of oneself and respect for nature are generated.

In the morning, surfing lessons, in the afternoon, recreational, sporting and educational activities such as beach cleaning, batucada, dance therapy or awareness of the environment.
